What's new
Updates to the FuelSteps data field for Garmin watches and to fuelsteps.com, newest first. The app updates through the Connect IQ Store; the plan builder is always current.
- Plan builder: Miles as a third unit next to Kilometres and Time; the import text says
miles(needs FuelSteps 1.1.0) - Settings format, AI prompt and
llms.txt:km,milesormin - Loading an import text: a schedule named like a unit (Miles, Km) after a line of AI text now loads
- Plan builder: tip to match your schedule to the race's aid stations, and a second AI question for race schedules
- Settings format: race schedules for AI assistants (ask for the official aid-station list, place steps with
@kmon aid stations), with a worked example; also inllms.txt
- Your schedule now works like a workout: after a saved or discarded run, or when you leave the activity before the start, it is off again. Fixes reminders that could fire on your next run.
First release in the Connect IQ Store.
- Settings in Garmin Connect: one text field per schedule (paste the import text from the plan builder), five schedules on one page
- Up to 5 fuel schedules of your own, by distance or time, filled in Garmin Connect and chosen on the watch
- Steps with their own distance/time, repeat, text (Gel, Dextro, Gel CAF, …), carbs and caffeine
- Vibration, tone (if your watch has one) and a full-screen alert, 60 s / 150 m before each moment (adjustable)
- Countdown to the next alert, with a ring on a full screen; works on half and quarter screens too
- Pick a schedule per run: after a saved or discarded run FuelSteps is off again, like a navigation route
- The last moment stays on the field: amber "Gel · now" for a while after the alert, then "Gel · km 20", so a missed alert is never a mystery
- Planned carbs, g/h, fuel moments and caffeine written to the activity (FIT), visible in Garmin Connect
- English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian
- Connect IQ Store links: badge in the hero, Download button in the header, link in install step 1
- Import text: a
;after every item, also with one item per line (Garmin Connect may drop line breaks)
- Plan builder: one import text per schedule (the app's settings format), stacked step rows on phones, drag to reorder, "after" and "at" positions per step
- Converting an existing plan: paste it into an AI assistant with the prompt on the plan page, then load the result in the builder to check the moments
- Plan builder and settings format reference
- fuelsteps.com live in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Italian
